Enhance drone usage in the oil palm plantations.

Use of drones (unmanned aircraft) is starting to be developed in the agricultural sector in several way. One of the most common uses is the "capture of images of the oil palm blocks”. These images are then analysed with SW programmes which provides information on how the oil palm trees are growing.

This data is useful for internal auditing for the following activities.

1) land planting

2) nursery

3) planting

4) fertilizing

5) weeding

6) harvesting

Moreover, it is also possible to use drones as remote fertilizing vehicles. By placing fertilizers on the aircrafts and defining the route it will have to follow. Oil palm plantations can now fertize specific areas of the plantations or even individual oil palm tree.

Deploying loT devices in oil palm plantation capable of remotely sending data related with the tree opens a whole new world of possibilities. These devices may include a number of sensors which measure several parameters, such as:

• soil moisture

• temperature or electrical conductivity of the soil (important in predicting fertilizing)
